Eric Shane Chrismen, born 2/13/78. Eric was a Father, a brother, a husband, a journeyman lineman, a friend, a leader, a comedian, a man of God. Eric had a condition called CML, a non aggressive form of Leukemia. Although he dealt with this daily, he didn’t let it him slow him down, getting a job at SCE, becoming a groundman, doing the 3 year apprenticeship and topping out as a Journeyman Lineman. He then moved into safety where he thrived, creating bonds across the company both in friendships and unity of the crews and management. He often met with the directors, discussing new rules and regulations and how the hands “really felt”. He was a true voice of the people. He then moved on to Supervision so he could spend more time with his family, and ultimately purchased land in Northern California. He then took a job at NLC, training the next generation, passing on knowledge, and getting even more time with his family and taking care of his herd of goats. In recent months his CML had become more aggressive and they were in the process of changing his treatment. On the morning of May 24th he was unresponsive and was air lifted to UC Davis with a severe brain bleed. The bleeding in Eric's brain was too severe and there was nothing medically that could be done to save him. He leaves behind an amazing wife, and two sons, 25, and 7 along with numerous family and friends lives who he has touched. The world is a little dimmer without Eric. For those that knew him, knew the energy he brought into a room. He was the ultimate hype man. Always laughing. Always joking. A damn good lineman and hard worker. A father that loved to go fishing and riding in the side by side on their property. He touched and changed the lives of every person he interacted with. We love you Eric. We will miss you.
